The boundary the bond has to cross
A surety bond is only worth what it can pay out in money somebody actually spends. That makes the anchor — the thing that turns a bank balance into a Stellar balance and back — load-bearing rather than a convenience, which is why it gets its own page instead of a button somewhere.
Get this wallet ready
Everything here runs on Stellar testnet. The XLM and the USDC are test assets with no value, handed out by this site so a stranger can walk the whole flow without owning anything first.
Fund the account
A Stellar address does nothing until an account exists for it. Friendbot creates one with test XLM, which pays the network fees for everything that follows.
Connect a wallet in the header to set it up.
Open a USDC trustline
Your wallet signs this one. A trustline is your account agreeing to hold the asset; nobody can open one on your behalf, and a faucet that could would have authority over your account.
Get test USDC
Reserves, stakes and challenge bonds are all posted in USDC. Publishing a certificate needs none of it — funding one needs all of it.
Fiat in, fiat out
Asking the anchor what it will do…
What is actually wired
- SEP-1 discovery. No endpoint is written into this app. The anchor is one environment variable and every URL comes out of its
stellar.toml, so pointing at a lira anchor is a config change rather than a diff. The toml also decides how we talk to it: an anchor that hosts its own form is driven over SEP-24, and one that does not — which is what the Turkish lira ramps are — over SEP-6. - SEP-10 authentication. Your wallet signs the anchor's challenge. The server validates that challenge first — sequence zero, sourced by the key the anchor publishes, carrying the right home domain, already signed by the anchor — and refuses to show your wallet anything that fails. A wallet approval dialog is the last place that question should be settled.
- Deposit and withdraw, on whichever rail the anchor speaks. Both directions, because a reserve funded from fiat is half a rail if a proven claim cannot be paid back out to fiat. Over SEP-24 the anchor opens its own window; over SEP-6 it answers with an IBAN and a reference to write in the transfer description, and the panel relays those words exactly as the anchor sent them.
- Whether the last hop lands depends on the asset. A deposit can only fund a reserve when the anchor issues the same USDC the deployed contracts hold. When it does not, the money stops in your wallet. The panel above compares the two issuers and says which case you are in, rather than implying the better one.
